“Signing Sophie in the face of competition from clubs in higher divisions than us is a clear sign of the ambition we have at Wolves,” said McNamara.
“She is the sort of highly talented player we want to attract to the club to build a squad that can take us to the top end of the women’s game.
“Her potential has been shown through her international (youth level) recognition, and with several clubs keen to sign Sophie this summer I reckon that bringing her to Wolves is a major coup for us.”
Attacking midfielder Bramford, who spent four years at Birmingham before her decision to switch clubs, said: “Being at Blues has been really good for me, they’ve brought my game on and definitely improved me as a player.
“But I wanted to get the chance to play senior football, and I’ll get that at Wolves in a competitive league that will stretch me and continue my development.
“My ambition is to play for the senior England team and I feel that playing for Wolves can help me towards that goal.
“And I want to help Wolves achieve their aims – from the moment I first spoke to the management team I could feel just how ambitious the club is, and that was one of the main reasons for my decision to sign.”
