The draw for the second round of the FA Cup took place today and placed Dan McNamara’s side alongside their Women’s Northern Premier Division rivals Forest, with the cup clash due to take place in Castlecroft on Sunday 28th November.
Wolves were able to overcome Forest on penalties in the second round of the 2020/21 edition following a 2-2 draw. The sides have already met at the CKW Stadium in the league this season, with McNamara’s team earning a 1-0 victory thanks to Anna Morphet’s long-range winner.
The match will be Wolves’ second in this season’s Women’s FA Cup, having put in a dominant second-half display away at Division One Midlands outfit Sporting Khalsa yesterday, after coming from behind to an early goal to claim a 7-1 win.
Forest are currently five points behind unbeaten Wolves in the Northern Premier table and reached the second stage of the FA Cup with a comfortable 4-0 home win against Lichfield.
