Dan McNamara’s league champions narrowly missed out on promotion to the Women’s Championship last season after an incredible campaign, which saw them lose just once in the Northern division before a play-off final loss to Southern champions Southampton.
But with the manager, who has spent time serving abroad with the RAF during the past few months, set to return to the squad ahead of the season, hopes will be high among the group to go one better this time round.
However, it will be a tricky start to 2022/23, with Wolves due to kick off their campaign away at Liverpool Feds on Sunday 21st August, a rematch of last season’s League Cup clash, which saw the newly promoted side victorious on penalties following a thriller which finished 3-3 after extra time.
Another away tie sees Wolves travel to Huddersfield Town the following weekend, before a first home fixture of the new season will see the side in gold and black host Loughborough Lightning on Sunday 4th September.
It will be a derby double in October, as Wolves renew rivalries with Boldmere St Micheal's following their promotion from Division 1 Midlands on Sunday 9th, before a midweek home clash against West Bromwich Albion a few days later.
December will bring around County and League Cup fixtures, as well as catching up on any postponed fixtures, before 2023 starts with Wolves hosting the Feds on Sunday 8th January.
There will be a second midweek Black Country derby of the season on the week commencing 13th March as Wolves head to West Bromwich Albion’s new Hednesford Town home, before the season is due to come to an end on Sunday 30th April as McNamara’s side travel to Brighouse Town.
In addition to the league campaign, Wolves Women are also due to be competing in the National League Cup, Birmingham County Cup and Women’s FA Cup this season.
Please note, all fixtures are subject to change and any updates will be posted on wolves.co.uk.
