New dates set for rearranged Wolves Women fixtures

A new date has been arranged for Wolves Women’s opening FAWNL Cup fixture against Northampton Town which was postponed at the weekend as a mark of respect following the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Dan McNamara’s side will now head to Northampton next weekend, on Sunday 25th September, for a 2pm kick-off, as the women’s first-team aim to reach the First Round proper of the Women's League Cup.

Wolves made it to the second round of the competition last season, having overcome the challenges of Leeds United and Hull City, before falling to Liverpool Feds.

As they were originally due to face AFC Fylde on the 25th, that Northern Premier Division clash away at Kellamergh Park has also been rearranged and will now be played on Sunday 18th December (kick-off 2pm).

This weekend also saw Wolves under-18s’ Premier League North fixture against Leeds postponed, and that game will now take place on Saturday 12th November, 1pm, at Thorp Arch Grange.

New dates for the men’s first-team visit to Liverpool and the under-21s’ home tie with Everton are still to be confirmed.

Following the announcement from the FA and Premier League on Monday, fixtures involving all Wolves teams from across the club will go ahead as originally scheduled this coming weekend.
