The second-placed Clarets make the trip to the New Bucks Head to take on Dan McNamara’s side in a return to action following the turn of the new year.

The game sees two of the top four in the Northern Premier Division go head-to-head as both look to close the gap on leaders Newcastle United.

Burnley currently sit second in the table on 23 points – seven ahead of the Old Gold in fourth who have played a game less.

Wolves are on a four-game winning streak in all competitions and have scored 23 goals in the process with just one conceded.

Visitors Burnley haven’t played since the 10th of December where they were 11-0 victors at Coundon Court in the FA Cup. The Clarets have lost just one game in all competitions this season and are unbeaten since the end of August.

Earlier in the season, the sides played out a 1-1 draw as Anna Morphet’s superb free-kick earned a point on the road for Wolves.

WHAT THE GAFFER SAID

“They’re tough, they’re well-organised and they’ve got some of the best young players within the league who have come out of outstanding environments at Man City and Man Utd.

“They’ll come and look to play so it’s important we stay in the game and we’re really good and controlled without the ball.

“Hopefully we can pose them a few problems and try and create our own problems for them going forward.”
