Wolves Women will begin their 2024/25 season with a Black Country derby at home to Stourbridge after the fixtures for their latest FAWNL Northern Premier Division campaign were revealed.
Dan McNamara’s side finished fourth in the league table last time out and reached a third successive Birmingham Challenge Cup final before losing out to Rugby Borough on penalties.
It was also a historic year in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, with the Old Gold defeating then Championship outfit Reading to reach the fifth round of the competition for the first time in 20 years.
And they kick-start 2024/25 in home comforts, as local rivals Stourbridge visit the SEAH Stadium (New Bucks Head) on Sunday 18th August. The two sides met three times last season, in league and cup, with Wolves winning all three and scoring 19 goals in the process.
Like in 2023/24, Wolves travel to Derby County in their first away game of the campaign on Sunday 25th August before the League Cup Determining Round takes place the midweek after.
The Old Gold then face Nottingham Forest and Burnley home and away respectively at the start of September while games against Hull City, Sporting Khalsa and Rugby Borough, all newly promoted, also come in the second month of the season.
A first Black Country derby of 2024/25 comes in October when Wolves travel to West Bromwich Albion looking to increase their winning run to 11 games in all competitions over their fierce rivals.
Nottingham Forest are the first opponents of 2025, with McNamara’s side making the trip to the East Midlands on Sunday 5th January, while the reverse fixture against Baggies is pencilled in for Sunday 23rd March.
An away trip to Halifax is the last on the road for Wolves before their league campaign comes to a close on Sunday 27th April as Liverpool Feds come to the SEAH Stadium.
In addition to the league campaign, Wolves Women are also due to be competing in the National League Cup, Birmingham Challenge Cup and Adobe Women’s FA Cup this coming season.
