Wilson to depart Wolves

Ellie Wilson’s time with Wolves Women will come to an end this summer, with the defender set to pursue an exciting opportunity elsewhere.

The right-back made 27 appearances during her one season at the club and scored eight goals across the 2023/24 campaign.

Wilson became an integral member of the Old Gold’s squad throughout last season and departs having played her part in some dramatic encounters, while also being named PFA Community Champion for her help in making a difference to the local community.

Following an opening elsewhere, Wilson will move on prior to the start of the new season which commences this Sunday.

Manager Dan McNamara said: “Ellie’s only been with us for a short period and during her time she’s made a real impression.

“She’s become a fan favourite and probably one of the dressing room favourites as well. It’s a real shame for us to lose Ellie, but she’s picked up another opportunity that she wants to go ahead and take advantage of.

“I thank her for the way she’s represented Wolves over the last 12 months and hopefully she’s taken some good memories away from the journey which will stand her in good stead. We wish her the best of luck and she knows where we are if she needs us.”
