Women's preview | Khalsa vs Wolves

Wolves Women are on the road for the second time in four days as they make the short trip to face Sporting Khalsa in a local derby on Wednesday night.

The Old Gold come up against the newly-promoted outfit at the Guardian Warehousing Arena in the second of a three-game week.

Dan McNamara’s side took a point from Sunday’s encounter with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium, with Amber Hughes scoring another brace – goals number six and seven of the campaign for the striker.

That result left Wolves in fifth place in the Northern Premier Division, with 13 points from a possible 18.

Meanwhile, opponents Sporting Khalsa are currently propping up the table and are yet to pick up a point after five matches.

Khalsa have suffered defeat in every game so far following their promotion-winning campaign last time out.

Wolves last travelled to Khalsa in November 2021, as goals from Amber Hughes (4), Tammi George (2) and Anna Price secured an emphatic 7-1 victory in the first round of the FA Cup.
