Women's preview | Liverpool Feds vs Wolves

Wolves Women return to league action with a trip to face Liverpool Feds on Sunday afternoon.

Dan McNamara’s side turn their attention back to the Northern Premier Division following last weekend’s progression in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

The Old Gold scored seven away to Asfordby Amateurs to progress into the second round, with Tammi George (3), Racheal Quigley (2), Beth Merrick and Abi Loydon all getting on the scoresheet.

The week before, Wolves rose to the top of the league following their 6-0 home victory over Halifax, which extended the winning run to four matches.

And the team know that another three points away to Feds will ensure they remain top of the table at the expense of Nottingham Forest who are also on the road at West Bromwich Albion.

Liverpool Feds are enjoying a strong campaign to date, having won five of their opening nine fixtures, leaving them sitting in sixth place on 16 points.

Leanne Duffy’s side also progressed in the FA Cup last weekend, beating Thornaby by seven goals to two, but were defeated by Stoke City in their last league game as the Potters recorded a 6-0 victory.

On their last visit to Liverpool Feds, the Old Gold won on the final day of the 2023/24 season as goals from Tammi George and Sophie Bramford secured the three points with a 2-1 win.
