Skipper Anna Morphet has praised the Wolves Women group for a committed and desirable run in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The women's first-team were defeated by the current holders, Manchester United, on Sunday but Morphet has remained confident in the groups abilities to succeed and has expressed the love and pride to represent each other in front of a record crowd of more than 5,000 supporters.
On defeat to the holders
“It was an amazing game to be apart of, obviously I think at the end their fitness and strength showed.
“I thought the girls showed courage and battled throughout the game.
“The performance is one we can be proud of; they have some of the best players in the country.
On the record-breaking attendance
“They were incredible, when we walked out it was nothing we had ever experienced.
“Thank you to them, they supported us when we were down and grafting away. Seeing them at the end to show our appreciation means a lot to the girls.
On the persistent defending throughout the game
“It’s the pride of representing each other and the club.
“I’d say for the people who watch because you also want to win games like these.
“We have to be proud of our efforts, it’s difficult to take but we will hold our heads high.
On a busy schedule of fixtures
“We will make sure to focus on Khalsa, they are a good side and have been really strong recently – It will be a massive game against Forest too.
“It’s a pivotal week, it won’t be the be all and end all, but these are games where we have got to switch back on and really focus on the league.”
