Katie Johnson admitted Wolves should have done more after having to settle for a point on the road against Hull City, as the side continue to battle for the league title.
Johnson reflected on the 3-3 draw in East Yorkshire, as well as speaking about her performance in a change of position, which saw her move from defence to midfield, while also looking ahead to a big Black Country derby at Molineux later this month.
On the team performance
“We’re disappointed, I think overall it wasn’t a great performance from us, and I think we know that.
“We will take the point, but I think on reflection it just wasn’t good enough at all.
“We will just have to go again in a couple of weeks’ time. It’s going to be a long night tonight to reflect on it, but we will go again.”
On her change of position
“It took me a few minutes to get back into it, I’ve always loved playing in midfield.
“Today was a different game, it was just about fighting and they were fighting and loud.
“We knew what to expect and I think that was what my role was playing there today, I just wanted to win those headers.
“It’s a tough place to come and play but ultimately, I did enjoy it, but I was happy to get back to centre-half in the end.”
On fighting back after falling behind
“I can’t put my finger on it, fair play to us for getting back in front.
“It was a great strike from AJ (Abbi Jenner) to get us back level, and the luck of that third goal, I thought we were in for it.
“We just lacked concentration at the end, and it absolutely killed us to be honest. I’m really disappointed as I thought we could’ve held on.
“The fight still goes on as we still have some games left and we will see where they take us.”
On a Black Country derby at Molineux
“We will reflect hard on today and we have a friendly next week so I think that will do us good and keep us ticking.
“Playing the baggies is a big one at the Molineux so we want to make it a big occasion for the fans and get as many people as possible down there.
“We will want to turn this result into a better one against West Brom.”
