Nasser Djiga strengthened Wolves’ defensive options when he joined from Red Star Belgrade on January deadline day 2025.
The Burkina Faso international signed a deal which initially runs until 2030 and also includes a 12-month option, following 18 months in the Serbian SuperLiga.
The defender began playing in his home nation at Vitesse FC and won his first piece of silverware there, before securing a move to Europe and the Swiss top flight with FC Basel in 2021.
The then teenager tasted the Swiss Super League with Basel and was often called upon in the Europa Conference League, before further opportunities arose via loan moves away.
First, Djiga played 22 times for Nimes in France and, following a brief return to Basel, the defender moved to Red Star Belgrade on loan last season.
That proved the making of the youngster, who became a regular as Red Star claimed the Serbian SuperLiga and Serbian Cup double, and experienced the Champions League for the first time, facing English opposition in Manchester City twice.
Following a permanent move during summer 2024, Djiga continued to be a key player, starting all eight European ties and guiding the club to an unbeaten first half of the campaign, dropping points on only one occasion before making the move to Molineux midway through the campaign.

A Burkina Faso youth international, Nasser Djiga first represented his country at under-20 level following his move to Basel, representing that side four times.
During the 2021/22 season, he earned his first senior international cap, playing in a friendly defeat to Kosovo and ahead of moving to Molineux in February 2025, he had added another seven caps to his record.
He has also found the back of the net as a senior international, with that goal earning Burkina Faso a 1-1 draw against Niger in March 2024.
