Rodrigo Gomes experienced his first taste of English football when the exciting Portuguese youth international moved to Molineux from SC Braga in the summer of 2024.
The winger’s switch to the Premier League came off the back of a productive 2023/24 season on loan at Portuguese top flight side Estoril, for whom he scored nine times and provided eight assists across 36 games.
Gomes was borrowed from SC Braga, where he’d played more than 50 times as a teenager, four years behind Pedro Neto, who progressed through the same academy before leaving for Molineux in 2019.
A pacy and technical winger, Gomes has various facets to his game, with his attributes providing versatility, leading to appearances on the both sides of the pitch, as well as at wing-back.
Hard-working and willing to cover the ground, Gomes has replicated his club form on the international stage having represented six different Portuguese youth groups, playing from under-16s up to under-21s.
Ahead of his debut in English football, Gomes enjoyed experience of playing competitive European football during his early days at Braga, which included outings in both the UEFA Europa League and the Europa Conference League.
But Gomes’ long-term future lies in gold and black, with Wolves holding a contract for the winger to run until 2029, as well as containing an additional one-year option.
