Josie Smith initially joined Wolves on dual registration from Everton during January 2023.

The versatile Welsh youth international, who can play in defence and midfield, had yet to make her senior breakthrough at Everton, but been a regular for the Toffees in the WSL Academy League.

Smith made nine appearances for the Merseyside club during the first half of the 2022/23 season, scoring once.

After becoming a permanent Wolves player the following summer, Smith developed further on loan, enjoying a successful 2023/24 season with Sporting Khlasa.

Joining Wolves teammates Skye Owen and Hannah Sparkes at the Willenhall-based club, the trio helped the team to the FAWNL Division One Midlands title and earnt promotion to the third tier of women's football, before returning in summer 2024 to compete for a place in the Wolves first-team.
