Maddie Elbro returned to her childhood club ahead of the 2024/25 FAWNL season after completing a soccer scholarship in the United States.

The goalkeeper, who progressed through the Wolves Regional Talent Centre, already had 25 first-team appearances to her name before making the return in summer 2024.

Elbro spent four years studying occupational therapy at Mercyhurst University in Erie Pennsylvania before graduating and returning to the UK.

During her previous first-team stint with the Old Gold which came before departing for the States in 2020, Elbro stepped out regularly between the sticks as Wolves fought to get out of the fourth tier, but twice the team were denied promotion due to Covid-19 affected seasons - having lost just one league game in two years.
