Greengrass | 'I’m pleased to get off the mark'

Charlotte Greengrass was pleased to get off the mark on her Wolves Women debut during Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Stourbridge.

The Old Gold scored two goals in each half, with Greengrass netting the second on her first competitive outing for the club. Speaking post-match, the forward discussed her start to life at Wolves, being more ruthless in front of goal and the season ahead.

On opening her account for the season

“I'm pleased to get going. I think by our standards, we probably could have done a bit better. I think I've probably been a bit self-critical that I could have got some more goals.

“I’m pleased to get off the mark, get a goal and bed in at home. I’m really happy.”

On her start to life at Wolves

“The girls have been really welcoming, and I've really enjoyed my time. I've only been here a couple of weeks but I think we're gelling nicely.

“As the season goes on we'll have those connections on the pitch even more. I'm really excited to see what we can do.”

On being more ruthless in front of goal

“We said at half-time, we need to go out there and be ruthless. We've created some really nice chances and as the season goes on, we're going to put those away. I think it's just first game, bed in, get the three points and get off the mark.”

On Derby next Sunday and the season ahead

“I’m really looking forward to it, it will be a tough test. I think we've got some things to take away today that we can roll into next week. I'm really looking forward to it.

“There's quality all across the league this year. You've seen that we've probably not put some chances away, that we probably should have, and I think that's something we're going to take into Derby and going forward throughout the season. We want to be ruthless in those areas. I think it's going to be a tough year, but I'm really looking forward to it.”
